MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME

BETWEEN ADVENTURES
Not every good day needs a drive.
The time between outings deserves a place in your plans, too. The resort’s planned amenities include walking trails, a dog park, fire pits, and a playground—making room for fresh air, family time, and evenings spent together.
WALKING TRAILS
Start with a morning walk or stretch your legs after a day of exploring. Planned trails will give guests a way to enjoy more of the property on foot.

DOG PARK
Bring your four-legged travel companion along. A dedicated dog park is part of the plans for the resort’s pet-friendly setting.

FIRE PITS
Set aside some time after sunset. Planned fire pits will provide places to gather, trade stories, and decide what tomorrow might bring.

PLAYGROUND
Give younger guests somewhere to play between lake outings and family day trips. A playground is included in the planned resort amenities.
Walk the waterfront. Ride the trails. Make a day of it.
EXPLORE PORT OLIVER
Port Oliver brings several kinds of outdoor recreation together in one public recreation area. Walk along the waterfront, plan a picnic overlooking the lake, launch a boat, or explore the wooded terrain of Twisted Oliver Trail.
TWISTED OLIVER TRAIL
For hikers and mountain bikers, Twisted Oliver offers wooded routes with lake views, climbs, bridges, and varied terrain. Explore the Pine Hill and Lake loops, choosing a route suited to your group and the conditions.
WATERFRONT BOARDWALK
Enjoy lake views from the accessible boardwalk, take a break at a waterfront picnic spot, or make time for fishing. It’s another way to experience Barren River Lake without spending the day on a boat.
BOATING & LAKESIDE GATHERINGS
Port Oliver’s boat launch and courtesy docks support outings on the water, while its reservable picnic shelter and amphitheater offer options for gathering beside the lake.
A boat day. A fishing trip. A different trail tomorrow.
You don’t need to spend every day doing the same thing—or bring every piece of equipment with you. Around Barren River Lake, seasonal rentals, fishing opportunities, public recreation areas, and trails let you build an outing around what your group enjoys.

Lake access, rentals, golf, and public recreation facilities are operated separately from the resort. Availability varies by location and season.
GET ON THE WATER
Bring your boat or explore seasonal rental options at Barren River State Dock. Pontoon, tritoon, and kayak rentals offer different ways to enjoy the lake, from a group outing to time spent paddling.
MAKE TIME TO FISH
Bass, crappie, bluegill, and catfish give anglers several reasons to plan a trip. Explore public fishing access and prepare for your visit with current Kentucky licensing information, regulations, and seasonal fishing guidance.
EXPLORE BEYOND THE SHORELINE
Look for birds and wildlife along Quarry Road’s wildlife loop and native prairie, explore the Tailwater area below the dam, or discover trails at Barren River Lake State Resort Park. Golfers can also plan a round at the state park’s separate 18-hole course.
Stock the RV kitchen. Find a favorite table. Explore a little longer.
Take the local route.
A getaway isn’t only about the big attractions. It can be a farmers’ market stop, something unexpected at a local shop, or a meal that becomes part of every return visit. Make room for the communities around Barren River Lake.
01.
A day in Glasgow
Browse the seasonal Bounty of the Barrens Farmers’ Market for produce, baked goods, and ingredients to bring back to your RV. Explore local history at the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center, then check the Historic Plaza Theatre’s schedule for a concert or performance.
02.
An outing in Scottsville
Visit Habegger’s Amish Market for pantry staples and picnic supplies, explore local dining options such as Harper’s Catfish, or spend time outdoors at Dugas Park. Combine a few stops into an afternoon rather than rushing from one destination to the next.
03.
Before you head out
Our local guides will help you check market dates, business hours, payment details, and event schedules before heading out.
