Allen County has a well-established Amish and Mennonite community whose farms and markets are popular stops for visitors staying near Barren River Lake. These places offer local produce, baked goods, meats, jams, and handmade items that are difficult to find in regular grocery stores.

Habegger’s Amish Market

Habegger’s Amish Market at 415 Perrytown Road in Scottsville is listed by the local Chamber of Commerce for local products and Dutch-made bulk foods. It is a useful starting point for an RV pantry stop. Confirm current stock, opening days and hours with the market before driving out. Chamber market listing.

Other Farms and Markets

For other farm stands and small shops, ask locally which businesses currently welcome visitors. Produce and other offerings vary by season and seller; do not assume every farm on a scenic route operates a public market.

Visiting Tips

Check each business’s opening days and payment options, and bring some cash as a backup. Roads in the Amish and Mennonite areas are shared with horse-and-buggy traffic, so drive carefully and give them space. Respectful behavior is appreciated; many residents prefer not to be photographed.

For RV travelers staying across the road from Barren River Lake, these markets are a short drive away and offer a practical way to stock up on local foods while supporting area farms. Checking current hours before you go helps ensure the items you want are available.
