On July 7, 2026, the Kentucky Distillers’ Association announced four Trail additions, bringing the program above 70 experiences. Two were in south-central Kentucky. KDA: July 7, 2026 additions

Closer to the Lake Area

The additions included Cave City Distilling Company, formerly Balance Distillery, and Purple Toad’s Bowling Green tasting room. Check Cave City’s booking page for tours. Purple Toad’s Bowling Green location offers wine and spirit tastings at 6245 Cemetery Road; everyday visits do not require a reservation. Other 2026 Additions

The same July announcement welcomed Pursuit Spirits on Whiskey Row and Uncle Boojie’s Distilling Co., both in Louisville. That announcement documents Trail membership; it is not a live schedule for every visitor experience. KDA: July 7, 2026 additions

Planning a Visit

Check the current booking rules at each stop. Map your route from your exact lake-area address instead of relying on a single regional driving-time estimate. Allow time for parking, meals and the return drive.

Cave City and Bowling Green offer options to consider alongside longer trips to the central bourbon region. Recheck hours and availability before setting out.

Planning a future RV trip with a Kentucky bourbon outing? The Resort at Barren River Lake is under construction and is not open yet. Our RV-sites-only resort is across the road from the lake, with no cabins now or planned and no direct lake access from the property. Join the waiting list for opening updates, then explore the area for ideas to include in your trip.
